About Jonathan Wells Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and growing up on a "hobby farm" I was very active in 4-H; raising and showing livestock. My passion was sports, especially baseball, and I was a member of the senior Babe Ruth World Series Championship team in 1992. After college I joined the Marine Corps. I was able to see and do some cool things while I was in the marines; I have been to more countries around the world than states in the U.S. For my 2nd deployment overseas, I had to leave my wife when she was 9 months pregnant with our first child. I received the notice that Macie was born during a hostage rescue exercise as I was jumping out of a helicopter. I didn't get to see her until 6 months later, when I returned from my deployment. That was a special day. After the Marine Corps, we moved with our daughter, Macie, to Colorado to work for my father-in-law's meat packing company. After a year of being a "meat head" my father in-law and I agreed I should try and find my calling. I considered many options for a career, but none of them were right for my family and me. When I decided to get involved in the insurance & financial services industry, I visited with a few industry leading companies. None of them offered what I was looking for, and I suppose a few didn't like what I had to offer, so I talked to my American National agent and his manager about a career. I thought, this company must be good if I'm already a client. I'm glad I made the decision to work with American National because I have been able to provide coverages and products for my clients that protect their assets, preserve their lifestyle and help them plan their future. In September of 2007 I took advantage of an opportunity with American National to move back home to the northwest. I love spending time with my wife, Amy, and our 3 children Macie, Jackson, Halle, and my German shepherd " Haus". |
